Start with demand

Six questions size the job.

The best compressor is not automatically the biggest. Correct sizing protects tool performance, fuel use, noise levels and hire cost.

    What will the air power?

    List every tool or process, including anything likely to run at the same time.

    How much flow is needed?

    Airflow is measured in CFM. Combined demand—and a sensible working margin—determines compressor size.

  3. 03

    What pressure is required?

    Pressure is measured in bar. The compressor must maintain the required pressure at the point of use.

    How clean and dry must it be?

    Some processes tolerate standard site air; others need cooling, moisture removal or fine filtration.

  5. 05

    Where will it operate?

    Indoor, urban, restricted-access and emissions-sensitive sites can change the ideal power source and layout.

    What if the air stops?

    Critical production or shutdown work may need standby capacity, remote monitoring or a rapid swap plan.
